DISCUSSION: Assistant Curates for the Deanery of Kent
Assigned to Deanery Executive for further exploration
 Table Discussions:
- There is a need for an overarching group to decide how the process of hiring a curate would be administered
- how would we incorporate learning for the curate
- a good thing to add to the deanery
- would payment based on apportionment be a fair way to divide the costs?
- could the curate help with pulpit supply
- discuss what needs are not being met in the deanery
- fund through deanery wide fundraising event – part of RENEW?
                - hire a fundraiser?
- where would this person come from?
- what would be their focus – youth?
- if there is a focus and a need the $ would follow
- how would we pay for it if churches can’t currently meet their apportionment?
- like the idea
- questions about duration, who the curate would report to,
- responsible to youth ministry? or other demographics?  Newly retired? Middle aged?
- responsibilities to community outreach?
- need to identify the needs and skills of deanery – right person and right place
