Disregard the bit you see in the minutes below that has Bishop Ed Leidel cancelled. (In capital letters!) No one has cancelled the bishop. He's coming. You should come, too. That's Wednesday, March 31, at 7 pm at St James, Wallaceburg.

New Business:
Refugee Program: The Rev. Kristen Oliver announced a plan whereby a refugee family come to Canada at a cost of $20,000 per year. This entails a $5,000 commitment from the national PWRDF and $15,000 from the Deanery of Kent (approximately $2,500 from each parish). Parishes would consult with their people as to their interest and intended level of involvement.
Lay Chair, Jane Cartier, announced planned visit of Diocesan Coach, Bishop Ed Leidel, on Wednesday, 31 March, at St. James Wallaceburg (7 PM) and encouraged attendance. “Our present decade is a tough one. Being the Church today is no piece of cake. The economics and politics of our world are in disarray. So how do we respond?” CANCELLED AS OF 10/03/10.

Dear Members of Deanery:
Our next meeting of the Deanery of Kent will be held at Holy Trinity,
Chatham on Tuesday 9 February at 7 PM.
The main topic to be discussed is "Who Is Your Neighbour" and to hear
presentations from the Wardens.
Refreshments to be supplied by Church of the Advent, Ridgetown; St.
Stephen's, Thamesville; and St. Andrew's, Tilbury.
We still require nominations for the following officers:

1) Youth Representations for Deanery and Diocese
2) Members at Large for Deanery Executive (must be a delegate to Synod)
3) Synod delegates who will allow their name to stand for Diocesan Council

Minutes of the November 17 meeting

MINUTES OF KENT DEANERY
ST. JAMES’, WALLACEBURG
17 NOVEMBER 2009 – 7:00 PM

Regional Dean David Fuller opened the meeting with prayer at 7:14 PM.
Canon Paul Rathbone presented the Diocesan budget on DVD followed by additional explanations and discussion.

The minutes of 22 September were accepted as presented.

No business arising from minutes.

Treasurer’s Report:

Harvey German stated that all parishes have paid their deanery apportionment.
Bishop Terry Dance ‘Meet at Greet’ at St. Paul’s, Chatham $130 – paid

Budget for 2010: $5169

NEW BUSINESS:

Executive will form the nominating committee for our next meeting. Volunteers are urgently needed as so many of the executive members are not returning. They will come knocking, if they don’t get volunteers.

- Relationship between single & multi-point, urban & rural
- Deanery library at Christ Church
- Planning and organization at our Deanery meetings
- Special events
