RENEW CAMPAIGN

Some of you may be aware of the Diocesan Renew campaign which was discussed at Synod in May and is planned to get underway this Fall.

As the Diocesan brochure states:

“Renew is about parish vitality – it is about working together to ensure that our parishes are able to carry out their mission and vision, with support from the Diocese and national church.  It offers parishes and donors a unique opportunity to direct, or designate, financial support to needs within parishes, such as capital requirements cited as priorities within the Diocese, or to the important mission work of the parish.”

The Diocesan priorities are as follows:
(1)    Huron Church Camp - $2,000, 000 to $2,500, 000 in capital upgrades.
(2)    Our Sacramental Leadership – urgent needs for the personal care of clergy and their families
(3)    Our Enduring Legacy – strengthen mission, programmes and facilities of the Diocese
(4)    Our Commitment to Youth
(5)    Our Shared Ministries – PWRDF, Canadian Armed Forces, assistance to northern and foreign clergy and pastoral care for indigenous and aboriginal peoples, etc.

Funds will be designated by checking a box on the pledge form which includes the parish option.  All funds will go to the ministry they have been designated.  The Diocese will not be taking a percentage of the fund raised for parish ministry.  All money that is designated to a church will go there.  This is a requirement of the Canada Revenue Agency for directed funds.
