3.       Archdeaconal committee formed for parish building appraisal

DIOCESAN COUNCIL UPDATE – Harvey German
Jane Cartier querried as to new representation on Diocesan Council (numbers) and the balance between clergy and lay.  Conclusion was that it needed more time in order to make a proper judgement.

NEW BUSINESS
Formation of experimental new parish in Chatham combining Holy Trinity, Christ Church, St. Paul’s and St. Thomas from March until September 2014 under the direction of co-rectors the Ven. Paul Milward and the Rev. Alan Knight.

Upcoming RENEW workshop for the Deanery of Kent at Wallaceburg in near future.  Date and time to be announced.

Bishop recommends that confirmations should be held in the Easter season.

Check Diocesan website for materials pertaining to Lay Leader Days, Renew-all and Social Justice Lenten materials and upcoming events at Huron College.

Clergy Day 9 May 2014.

MOTIONS
1.       That parishes be encouraged to purchase Fair-Trade Coffee and sell it during parish events at $1 per cup – the proceeds going towards to Kent Deanery “social justice” issues.  Moved: John Maroney  Seconded:Gary Parker.  Carried.

Fair Trade coffee is available at the Bulk Barn on St. Clair Avenue in Chatham, Bela’s Cafe in Dresden or through Chuck Scott at escott@ciaccess.com 9107 Indian Creek Line in Chatham.  Mr. Scott is a member of St. Paul’s Church in Chatham.

2.       That Deanery minutes be posted no later that two weeks following the meeting.  Moved: Jane Cartier.  Seconded; Janis Unsworth.  Carried.

4 March – Pancake Supper 4:30 – 6:30 PM
16 March BAC will be hosting a parish brunch at 11 AM service
22 March – Indoor yard sale from 8 AM to 1 PM
30 March – Bp. Terry Dance will visit and we will have a pot luck following service

CHRIST CHURCH, DRESDEN
30 November 2013 – very successful Posada well attended and good time had by all
- During Advent and four weeks of the new year a theology and bible study was conducted. We watched the movies Babette’s Feast and Enchanting April.  Good discussion and insight as to our actions in the church.
- 4 March we will have our Pancake Supper
- 7 March World Day of Prayer at Christian Reformed Church in Dresden
- 8 March Hosting Lay Readers Workshop for Deanery  9 AM to 1 PM – brown bag lunch
- 15 March St. Patrick’s stew supper for the Parish of the Transfiguration.  All are welcome.  Donations to
   the Dresden Food Bank.  As a group bring enough stew, bread and green desert for the number
   attending from your church.  Games are played after dinner.
 - 3 April hosing Kent Deanery ACW with guest speaker Nina Reid Maroney
- Lenten services begin for four weeks at Trinity Christian Centre, Dresden sponsored by Dresden
    Ministerial which we will be attending.
- During Lent the Rev. Maroney will conduct a bible study discussing the Gospels paralleled.  It is at 2:30
   PM Wednesday at Christ Church.  Everyone welcome.
